SIOR Announces 2008 Kickoff Event

The New Jersey Chapter of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR) will host its 2008 Kickoff Event on Jan 31 at Liberty House Restaurant, located inside Liberty State Park, Jersey City.  This year's theme will be "Giving Back To The Community". with speaker Omar Minaya, manager of the New York Mets.

"The Kickoff is expected to attract more than 200 people, including SIOR members, developers, friends and others involved in the commercial Real Estate Community," said Gregory Irving, SIOR and president of the New Jersey Chapter.

"This year's event will be cutting-edge, as it relates to the many activities of our real estate community.  One of the evening's highlights will be the address by famed New York Mets General Manager Omar Minaya," said Chris Marx, SIOR and past president of the New Jersey Chapter.

"It is always amazing to me the amount of time, effort and financial support our colleagues give back to the community.  Whether a small financial donation or a heralded gift, the amount of philanthropy provided directly by our real estate community is incredible," Irving said.  "I am not aware of any of our SIOR members that do not have multiple volunteer activities whereby they give their time and expertise on a philanthropic basis."

"We all enjoy the idea of giving our time and expertise to those individuals or entities in need," said W. Joshua Levering, past SIOR president.  "this event is both an opportunity to showcase many of our sponsors' projects, in addition to hearing a dynamic leader of our area speak on a similar topic."

The Kickoff Event will begin at 4pm with cocktails, networking and major developers presenting information on their projects.  Minaya will speak followed by a question-and-answer forum from the audience.  In addition, Irving will present 2007 Broker Awards.  For more information, visit www.siornj.com.  Seating is limited, so early registration is recommended.
